Simon Woolf

Another Wellington photographer, this time Simon Woolf.

This is probably the first time I have seen him without a camera as he was changing a light outside his studio. After I took this we had a chat and he told me he had just purchased his second Rolleiflex :)

Peter Black

From time to time I come across other street photographers while I am wandering around…

Peter Black has just had his book “I Loved You The Moment I Saw You” published a couple of months ago (you can see it HERE) so when I saw him wandering around with his camera I did a quick evasive maneuver round the back of a block to catch him as he walked past (not easy to do quickly with a two year old strapped onto your back).

It was an excellent case of good preparation bad execution as I pulled the focus a bit… He obviously saw me and grabbed a couple of shots of me and Sam :)

When we walked back later on in the morning he didn’t notice me taking the shot of him being interviewed about the book :)

Whats Wrong With This Image?

Another shot from the Petone Fair. This time of another photographer.

So what is wrong with this picture? Anyone who knows me know I hate cheap tripods (See previous rant here) and this guy sporting two camera bodies and seems to have forgotten to spend some money on his :).  Its probably lucky that it was an absolutely still clear night for those firework shots latter on :)

I’m not judging… Just saying

Shooting Some Shooters

When you go to an Event that is like the Dragon Boat Festival a couple of weeks ago with a Rolleiflex a lot of the time it isn’t worth photographing the actual event due to the Rollei not having much in the way of a telephoto ability… But that doesn’t mean you don’t get to take images or have fun :)

Willis Street Photographer

The nerve of some people taking photos of people without them knowing using a telephoto lens…Thats like cheating or something… At least it was a Nikon :)

Traffic Photographer on Manners Street

Just after Manners Mall became a bus road this guy turned up for about a week… We initially thought he was there to catch buses that were running red lights but it turns out he was there to take images of cars going through the “Bus Only” section of the road, possibly to give them tickets.
